Ceiling fan installation

A ceiling fan has to hang from a fan-rated box, not the light box that is usually already there. That is the part DIY installs get wrong, and it is why fans wobble, drop, or crack the ceiling. We fit a rated box, even on a vaulted or two-storey ceiling, balance the fan, and put it on the control you want, whether that is a wall switch, a remote, or a smart switch.

Do any of these sound familiar?

Signs you need this

01

A fan that wobbles or has dropped slightly

The box is not fan-rated or the mount has loosened. This is a safety fix rather than a cosmetic one.

02

You want a fan where there is only a light

We can add the rated box and, if needed, the wiring and the switch to control it separately.

03

A high or sloped ceiling

Needs a proper down-rod, an angled mount, and a lift. We are set up for two-storey great rooms.

04

A fan that hums or a light that flickers

Usually the wrong control, a failing capacitor, or a loose connection at the canopy.

What it costs

$165to$625

per fan

What moves the price
replacing versus a new location, ceiling height and slope, and whether a rated box or new wiring is needed.
What is included
a fan-rated box, mounting, balancing, and control setup.

Estimated range, reviewed regularly. Your exact price is fixed in writing before any work begins.

What the price covers

  • A listed fan-rated box, almost always replacing what is there
  • The correct down-rod length for your ceiling height and slope
  • Blade balancing so it runs quiet at every speed
  • The control you want, whether wall switch, remote, or smart switch
  • A test on every speed, the light, and the reverse function
  • Packaging and the old fixture taken away

Start to finish

How the job goes

  1. 1

We confirm the box, and almost always replace it with a fan-rated one.

  2. 2

For a new location, we run the wiring and set the switch.

  3. 3

We assemble, hang, and balance the fan, and set the down-rod for the ceiling height.

  4. 4

We test every speed, the light, and the control.

Permits and inspection

Replacing a fan is maintenance. Adding a fan where there is no existing box, with new wiring and a switch, can be permitted work, and we confirm with the Town of Parker or Douglas County.

Mike Allan
We had a great experience with Allsafe Electric. At the initial consult, we discussed the work we wanted done, and Jud expertly explained the options for how he could get it done clean and cost effective. He didn't try to push or upsell anything. His estimate was clear and fair, and he was flexible when we asked to reschedule the date of work. Once scheduled he showed up right on time and did clean, quality work. The work included relocating our EV charger hookup, adding a new outlet, installation of both an interior and exterior ceiling fan box, a new ethernet cable plug, and a new outlet for an induction cooktop. Professional, communicative, and easy to work with. We'd absolutely use Allsafe again and recommend Jud to anyone in the Parker area.

All Safe is a fantastic electrician company. They are great communicators as to when they will arrive and work in a clean orderly fashion. They installed new lighting fixtures, replaced a broken GFI, replaced switches, repaired an outlet. They did a great job I highly recommend them.

We originally called Allsafe to look at adding some new lighting to our dining room and fixing some lighting issues in our bathrooms. Judd from Allsafe informed us there were concerns about our electrical service panel but could do the repairs we asked. We put the project on hold due to some urgent medical issues. About 2 months later we had an outlet in the kitchen arc and burn out. Our electrical service panel breakers didn’t trip appropriately. We called Judd back out to assess the situation. He was very thorough in evaluating what was going on with our electrical system. He found multiple issues with our ancient service panel and improper grounding throughout the house. Judd and his team replaced our electrical service panel, multiple outlets, installed new bathroom light fixtures, and installed new recessed lighting in our dining area. They found and fixed a few other minor issues along the way at no additional cost. Working with Allsafe was awesome! All the work they did looks great and we’re very happy we chose them to upgrade our electrical system.

recently had AllSafe Electric come out to do some work at my place, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. They replaced several outlets and updated lighting in both my closet and basement, and everything turned out great. The work was done professionally and efficiently, and you can tell they take pride in what they do. Everything looks clean, works perfectly, and was completed in a timely manner. They were also easy to communicate with and showed up when they said they would, which goes a long way. I’d definitely recommend AllSafe Electric to anyone needing electrical work done. Solid, reliable service all around.

Master electrician. We had a job list and he and his partner too care of fan installation, 2 dedicated electrical outlets, moving one plug in lower position. New smoke detectors because they were outdated. He went to home depot to purchase the smoke detectors I can't explain how comfortable i felt with all of this work If we were doing stars. He would get 20 not 10

Judson Cushing and the AllSafe Electric team continue to impress. Judson recently installed an outlet above my pool table along with a wall switch for a new pool table light. The placement was thoughtful, the install was clean, and the finished product looks like it was always meant to be there. Functionally perfect and aesthetically spot-on. This is at least the third project AllSafe Electirc has completed for me (which includes installing an auxiliary panel, running new circuits, and troubleshooting problems). As always, Judson and Shawn were very responsive, on time, did a fantastic job in short order. They clearly take pride in their work. It is hard to find contractors who combine technical skill with real customer focus, but AllSafe Electric does. I couldn’t be happier. Judson and Allsafe Electric have absolutely and repeatedly earned my business and recognition.

We did not have power coming through a circuit in our garage. When I called on a Friday morning, I fully expected we would have to wait until after the weekend for an electrician to come out. But Jud was able to come diagnose the issue within just a few hours! I was very impressed, and so happy that he was also able to fix the problem very quickly. Jud was very professional, explained everything so well, and is very trustworthy.

I chose AllSafe Electric because their project proposal was the most detailed and comprehensive of those I received. Once the project began, I was thoroughly impressed by their expertise, workmanship, and attention to detail. An excellent experience. Most highly recommended.

Common questions

Why can I not hang a fan from the existing light box?

A standard box is not built for the moving load of a fan and can work loose or pull out. Code requires a listed fan-rated box, which we install.

Can you install a fan on my vaulted ceiling?

Yes. It needs an extended down-rod and often an angled ceiling adapter, plus a lift to reach it safely. We come equipped for two-storey great rooms.

My new fan wobbles. Can you fix it?

Usually. It is typically the box, the mount, or blade balance, and occasionally a blade is warped and needs replacing.

Can the fan and light be on separate switches?

Yes, if there are enough wires in the box, or with a remote or smart control. We check what is there and give you the options.

Where we do ceiling fans

We handle ceiling fans across Parker and the surrounding south metro. That includes Parker, Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Centennial and The Pinery, plus every other town on our service area page. Each town page lists its own permit authority and electric utility, which genuinely differ across Douglas, Arapahoe and Elbert counties.
