Electrician in Highlands Ranch, CO
Highlands Ranch is a straight 20-minute run in your area. The housing stock is consistent, mostly 1990s master-planned, so we know what to expect: original panels reaching the end of their service life, and homeowners adding EV chargers to a service that can usually take one with a proper load calculation.

Electrical services we provide in Highlands Ranch
What Highlands Ranch homes are like electrically
Highlands Ranch is almost entirely 1980s–2000s master-planned development, which makes it predictable: consistent construction, mostly 150A or 200A service, and a lot of original panels now 30–40 years old and due for evaluation. The most common calls are panel assessments, EV charger installs, and outlet and switch work in homes getting their first real refresh.

Permits and inspections in Highlands Ranch
Douglas County Building Division
Highlands Ranch is unincorporated, so electrical permits go through the Douglas County Building Division. Panel and service upgrades, EV chargers, generators and hot tub circuits require a permit and inspection. The Highlands Ranch Community Association also has architectural guidelines that can apply to exterior work like generators and outdoor lighting. We handle the county permit; the HRCA side is covered in our HOA guide.
Permit rules and fees change. We confirm current requirements with the jurisdiction before every permitted job. See our permit guides.

“We did not have power coming through a circuit in our garage. When I called on a Friday morning, I fully expected we would have to wait until after the weekend for an electrician to come out. But Jud was able to come diagnose the issue within just a few hours! I was very impressed, and so happy that he was also able to fix the problem very quickly. Jud was very professional, explained everything so well, and is very trustworthy.”Read the full review

“I chose AllSafe Electric because their project proposal was the most detailed and comprehensive of those I received. Once the project began, I was thoroughly impressed by their expertise, workmanship, and attention to detail. An excellent experience. Most highly recommended.”

“We had a great experience with Allsafe Electric. At the initial consult, we discussed the work we wanted done, and Jud expertly explained the options for how he could get it done clean and cost effective. He didn't try to push or upsell anything. His estimate was clear and fair, and he was flexible when we asked to reschedule the date of work. Once scheduled he showed up right on time and did clean, quality work. The work included relocating our EV charger hookup, adding a new outlet, installation of both an interior and exterior ceiling fan box, a new ethernet cable plug, and a new outlet for an induction cooktop. Professional, communicative, and easy to work with. We'd absolutely use Allsafe again and recommend Jud to anyone in the Parker area.”Read the full review

“Over the past couple years we have been stumbling through the repairs of construction defects. Many of those defects involved electrical. Along with new defects, we still have some old electrical that was not made up to date by the previous subcontractor. Judd and the AllSafe crew have helped navigate and make repairs as we find them. It’s been such a relief to have knowledgeable electricians help keep our family safe and regain some of our creature comforts. We appreciate knowing someone around we can count on for help. Thank you for your patients and empathy for us during all this. We really appreciates good people. Thank you. The Black Family”Read the full review

“All Safe is a fantastic electrician company. They are great communicators as to when they will arrive and work in a clean orderly fashion. They installed new lighting fixtures, replaced a broken GFI, replaced switches, repaired an outlet. They did a great job I highly recommend them.”

“Judd was great. I called for an estimate, they came right out, game a good price, i hired them, they showed up right away, did a great job, took care of my gear and my dogs, and pleasure to work with. Allsafe installed a new 20-amp line for my stereo and installed a whole house surge protector and of course had to fix some issues with my breaker panel because my house was built recently by a homebuilder that took some short cuts.”Read the full review

Questions from Highlands Ranch homeowners
Which building department covers Highlands Ranch?
Douglas County, Highlands Ranch is unincorporated. Permits and inspections for panel work, EV chargers and generators all go through the county Building Division, which we handle for you.
Is Highlands Ranch on Xcel or CORE?
Mostly Xcel Energy, which is different from most of Parker and Castle Rock. It matters for EV and electrification rebates. We check your provider before quoting anything that depends on a rebate.
My Highlands Ranch home still has its original 1990s panel. Does it need replacing?
Not automatically, but at 30-plus years it is worth an inspection. We check the brand, the breaker condition, the bus, and the grounding, and tell you whether it is fine, worth monitoring, or due.
Can my Highlands Ranch home take an EV charger without a panel upgrade?
Usually, if it has 200A service and some spare capacity. We run a load calculation first. If it is tight, a load-management device often avoids a full upgrade.
