Electrician in Franktown, CO
Franktown work is rural work, and it is genuinely different from a subdivision call. Properties sit on acreage, most are on well and septic, and the electrical system is usually spread across more than one building: a meter main outside, a panel in the house, a sub-panel in a shop or barn, and buried feeds between them that in many cases went in decades ago. Two things follow from that. First, when the power goes out here you also lose water, because the well pump is electric, which is why standby generators are far more common in Franktown than in town and why sizing them around the pump, furnace and septic controls matters. Second, fault-finding takes longer, because a problem can be anywhere along a few hundred feet of buried run rather than inside four walls. We price that honestly rather than quoting a subdivision rate and then adding to it.

Electrical services we provide in Franktown
What Franktown homes are like electrically
Franktown is rural Douglas County, which changes the electrical picture entirely. Properties are on acreage, many on well and septic, and a lot of homes have detached shops, barns or garages fed by buried runs that were installed decades ago and never inspected since. Well pumps are the critical load nobody thinks about until the power goes out and there is no water, which is why standby generators are far more common here than in town. Panel work often means an outdoor meter main plus interior sub-panels rather than a single indoor panel.

Permits and inspections in Franktown
Douglas County Building Division
Franktown is unincorporated Douglas County, so the county building division permits and inspects electrical work. Acreage properties add wrinkles a subdivision does not have: well pumps, septic controls, detached shops and barns, and long buried feeds between buildings. All of those are permitted work. We file with Douglas County, coordinate CORE for any service change, and meet the inspector.
Permit rules and fees change. We confirm current requirements with the jurisdiction before every permitted job. See our permit guides.

“We did not have power coming through a circuit in our garage. When I called on a Friday morning, I fully expected we would have to wait until after the weekend for an electrician to come out. But Jud was able to come diagnose the issue within just a few hours! I was very impressed, and so happy that he was also able to fix the problem very quickly. Jud was very professional, explained everything so well, and is very trustworthy.”Read the full review

“We had a great experience with Allsafe Electric. At the initial consult, we discussed the work we wanted done, and Jud expertly explained the options for how he could get it done clean and cost effective. He didn't try to push or upsell anything. His estimate was clear and fair, and he was flexible when we asked to reschedule the date of work. Once scheduled he showed up right on time and did clean, quality work. The work included relocating our EV charger hookup, adding a new outlet, installation of both an interior and exterior ceiling fan box, a new ethernet cable plug, and a new outlet for an induction cooktop. Professional, communicative, and easy to work with. We'd absolutely use Allsafe again and recommend Jud to anyone in the Parker area.”Read the full review

“Over the past couple years we have been stumbling through the repairs of construction defects. Many of those defects involved electrical. Along with new defects, we still have some old electrical that was not made up to date by the previous subcontractor. Judd and the AllSafe crew have helped navigate and make repairs as we find them. It’s been such a relief to have knowledgeable electricians help keep our family safe and regain some of our creature comforts. We appreciate knowing someone around we can count on for help. Thank you for your patients and empathy for us during all this. We really appreciates good people. Thank you. The Black Family”Read the full review

“All Safe is a fantastic electrician company. They are great communicators as to when they will arrive and work in a clean orderly fashion. They installed new lighting fixtures, replaced a broken GFI, replaced switches, repaired an outlet. They did a great job I highly recommend them.”

“Judd was great. I called for an estimate, they came right out, game a good price, i hired them, they showed up right away, did a great job, took care of my gear and my dogs, and pleasure to work with. Allsafe installed a new 20-amp line for my stereo and installed a whole house surge protector and of course had to fix some issues with my breaker panel because my house was built recently by a homebuilder that took some short cuts.”Read the full review

Questions from Franktown homeowners
Do you cover acreage properties with outbuildings?
Yes, and it is a lot of what we do in Franktown. Feeds to shops, barns and detached garages, sub-panels at the far end, and the buried runs in between are all standard work for us. They do need a permit, correct burial depth and a disconnect at the building being fed.
My well pump stops when the power goes out. What are my options?
A standby generator sized to include the well pump is the usual answer, and it does not have to be a whole-home unit. Covering the pump, the furnace, septic controls and a handful of circuits is often the sensible buy. We will size it around what you actually need to keep running.
Something is wrong between the house and the shop. Can you find it?
Yes. Faults in buried runs are common out here, usually from age, rodent damage, or a trench dug by someone who did not know the feed was there. We trace the actual fault rather than trenching the whole run on spec, and we tell you honestly when replacement is cheaper than repair.
Is Franktown permitted through Douglas County?
Yes. Franktown is unincorporated, so the Douglas County Building Division handles permits and inspections. We file and meet the inspector so you do not have to be there.
