Electrician in Denver, CO
We cover South Denver regularly. We cover south Denver, the side nearest Parker, fully within our service area. Neighborhoods like University Hills, Hampden, Virginia Village and Southmoor Park are largely 1950s to 1970s, and the typical job there is a panel replacement: an original service that has aged out, sometimes partial grounding, and a household now drawing considerably more than the panel was sized for. Closer to the center, the pre-1940 bungalows around Washington Park and Platt Park are a different job, where knob-and-tube, ungrounded circuits and 60A services mean an inspection is the honest first step before anyone quotes a number. Two practical notes specific to Denver: permitting runs through Community Planning and Development and takes longer than Douglas County, and historic district review can apply to anything that changes a street-facing elevation. We plan timelines around both rather than promising around them.

Electrical services we provide in Denver
What Denver homes are like electrically
Denver covers more housing eras than anywhere else we serve, so what matters is which part. We focus on south Denver, the side closest to Parker. Older central neighborhoods carry pre-1940 bungalows where knob-and-tube, ungrounded circuits and 60A services still turn up, and those are inspection and rewiring jobs. The post-war southern and southeastern neighborhoods are mostly 1950s through 1970s, which is panel replacement territory. Newer infill and scrape-and-rebuild properties are straightforward capacity work by comparison.

Permits and inspections in Denver
Denver Community Planning and Development
Denver permits through Community Planning and Development, and it is the most process-heavy jurisdiction we work in. Service and panel replacements, rewiring, EV chargers and new circuits all require permits and inspection, and historic districts add review on anything that changes a street-facing elevation. We file early and coordinate Xcel for service work, because Denver timelines are longer than Douglas County ones and it is better to plan around that than be surprised by it.
Permit rules and fees change. We confirm current requirements with the jurisdiction before every permitted job. See our permit guides.

Denver is Xcel Energy territory throughout. Rebate and time-of-use programs differ from the CORE areas in Douglas County, so guidance written for Parker does not apply.

“We did not have power coming through a circuit in our garage. When I called on a Friday morning, I fully expected we would have to wait until after the weekend for an electrician to come out. But Jud was able to come diagnose the issue within just a few hours! I was very impressed, and so happy that he was also able to fix the problem very quickly. Jud was very professional, explained everything so well, and is very trustworthy.”Read the full review

“We had a great experience with Allsafe Electric. At the initial consult, we discussed the work we wanted done, and Jud expertly explained the options for how he could get it done clean and cost effective. He didn't try to push or upsell anything. His estimate was clear and fair, and he was flexible when we asked to reschedule the date of work. Once scheduled he showed up right on time and did clean, quality work. The work included relocating our EV charger hookup, adding a new outlet, installation of both an interior and exterior ceiling fan box, a new ethernet cable plug, and a new outlet for an induction cooktop. Professional, communicative, and easy to work with. We'd absolutely use Allsafe again and recommend Jud to anyone in the Parker area.”Read the full review

“Over the past couple years we have been stumbling through the repairs of construction defects. Many of those defects involved electrical. Along with new defects, we still have some old electrical that was not made up to date by the previous subcontractor. Judd and the AllSafe crew have helped navigate and make repairs as we find them. It’s been such a relief to have knowledgeable electricians help keep our family safe and regain some of our creature comforts. We appreciate knowing someone around we can count on for help. Thank you for your patients and empathy for us during all this. We really appreciates good people. Thank you. The Black Family”Read the full review

“All Safe is a fantastic electrician company. They are great communicators as to when they will arrive and work in a clean orderly fashion. They installed new lighting fixtures, replaced a broken GFI, replaced switches, repaired an outlet. They did a great job I highly recommend them.”

“Judd was great. I called for an estimate, they came right out, game a good price, i hired them, they showed up right away, did a great job, took care of my gear and my dogs, and pleasure to work with. Allsafe installed a new 20-amp line for my stereo and installed a whole house surge protector and of course had to fix some issues with my breaker panel because my house was built recently by a homebuilder that took some short cuts.”Read the full review

Questions from Denver homeowners
Which parts of Denver do you serve?
South Denver primarily, the side closest to Parker, including University Hills, Hampden, Virginia Village, Southmoor Park and the Washington Park area. For addresses well north or west, call and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.
How long do Denver permits take?
Longer than Douglas County, and it varies by workload and whether historic review applies. We file early and build the timeline around the real process rather than quoting you an optimistic date we cannot control.
My 1920s bungalow still has original wiring. Where do we start?
An inspection. In pre-war housing what is behind the plaster genuinely determines the scope, and any quote given without opening the panel and checking a few boxes is a guess. Often a portion of the old wiring was abandoned years ago, which makes the real job smaller than people fear.
Can you install an EV charger at a Denver home?
Yes. It starts with a load calculation to confirm the existing service supports it, then a dedicated circuit, the right breaker, a Denver permit and an inspection. In older neighborhoods the answer is sometimes that a service upgrade comes first, and we tell you that before you buy the charger.
Is Denver on Xcel?
Yes, throughout. That differs from Parker and the rest of Douglas County, which are largely CORE Electric Cooperative, and it changes which rebate programs you qualify for.
