Electrician in Castle Pines, CO

Castle Pines is a custom-home market, and the electrical work reflects that. Services are usually already 200A, sub-panels are common, and there is typically far more going on outside the house than inside it: landscape and architectural lighting, exterior GFCI circuits, gate and driveway feeds, water features. That is also where most of our calls originate, because buried runs and outdoor equipment take a beating through fifteen or twenty Colorado winters in a way that interior wiring simply does not. The other thing worth knowing here is process: Castle Pines runs its own building department rather than using Douglas County, and most neighborhoods carry active HOA design review on top of that. Anything visible from outside can need both approvals, and we will tell you upfront when that is the case rather than after the fact.

What Castle Pines homes are like electrically

Castle Pines is mostly 1990s through 2000s construction, with a significant share of larger custom and semi-custom homes. Electrically that means bigger systems than average: 200A services are common, sub-panels are frequent, and there is often far more exterior and landscape lighting than a standard subdivision carries. The failure points tend to be outdoor rather than indoor, buried landscape lighting runs, exterior GFCI circuits, and transformer or timer equipment that has weathered fifteen Colorado winters.

Permits and inspections in Castle Pines

City of Castle Pines

Castle Pines incorporated in 2008 and handles its own building permits, separate from Douglas County. Panel and service work, EV chargers, generators, hot tubs and outdoor lighting circuits are permitted and inspected. Many neighborhoods also carry active HOA design review, which is separate from the permit and matters most for anything visible outside: generator placement, exterior fixtures and landscape lighting. We file the permit and will tell you when an HOA submittal is likely needed too.

Permit rules and fees change. We confirm current requirements with the jurisdiction before every permitted job. See our permit guides.

We did not have power coming through a circuit in our garage. When I called on a Friday morning, I fully expected we would have to wait until after the weekend for an electrician to come out. But Jud was able to come diagnose the issue within just a few hours! I was very impressed, and so happy that he was also able to fix the problem very quickly. Jud was very professional, explained everything so well, and is very trustworthy.

I chose AllSafe Electric because their project proposal was the most detailed and comprehensive of those I received. Once the project began, I was thoroughly impressed by their expertise, workmanship, and attention to detail. An excellent experience. Most highly recommended.

We had a great experience with Allsafe Electric. At the initial consult, we discussed the work we wanted done, and Jud expertly explained the options for how he could get it done clean and cost effective. He didn't try to push or upsell anything. His estimate was clear and fair, and he was flexible when we asked to reschedule the date of work. Once scheduled he showed up right on time and did clean, quality work. The work included relocating our EV charger hookup, adding a new outlet, installation of both an interior and exterior ceiling fan box, a new ethernet cable plug, and a new outlet for an induction cooktop. Professional, communicative, and easy to work with. We'd absolutely use Allsafe again and recommend Jud to anyone in the Parker area.

Over the past couple years we have been stumbling through the repairs of construction defects. Many of those defects involved electrical. Along with new defects, we still have some old electrical that was not made up to date by the previous subcontractor. Judd and the AllSafe crew have helped navigate and make repairs as we find them. It’s been such a relief to have knowledgeable electricians help keep our family safe and regain some of our creature comforts. We appreciate knowing someone around we can count on for help. Thank you for your patients and empathy for us during all this. We really appreciates good people. Thank you. The Black Family

All Safe is a fantastic electrician company. They are great communicators as to when they will arrive and work in a clean orderly fashion. They installed new lighting fixtures, replaced a broken GFI, replaced switches, repaired an outlet. They did a great job I highly recommend them.

Judd was great. I called for an estimate, they came right out, game a good price, i hired them, they showed up right away, did a great job, took care of my gear and my dogs, and pleasure to work with. Allsafe installed a new 20-amp line for my stereo and installed a whole house surge protector and of course had to fix some issues with my breaker panel because my house was built recently by a homebuilder that took some short cuts.

Questions from Castle Pines homeowners

Does Castle Pines permit through Douglas County?

No. Castle Pines incorporated in 2008 and runs its own building department. Only unincorporated addresses nearby go through the county. We confirm which applies to your address and file accordingly.

Will my HOA need to approve electrical work?

For anything visible outside, often yes. Generator placement, exterior fixtures and landscape lighting commonly need design review, and that is a separate process from the city permit. We will flag it before we start so it does not stall the job halfway through.

My landscape lighting has stopped working in sections. What causes that?

Usually a failed transformer, a corroded buried connection, or a run that has been nicked by landscaping work. It is very common here given how much exterior lighting these homes carry. We trace the actual break rather than replacing the whole system by default.

Are standby generators worth it in Castle Pines?

For many homes here, yes. Ridge and canyon exposure means wind-related outages are more frequent than in flatter areas. We size units honestly, and that sometimes means telling you a partial-coverage unit is the sensible buy rather than whole-home.
