Hot tub and spa electrical hookup
A hot tub needs its own 240-volt circuit, GFCI protection, and a disconnect within sight of the tub but at least five feet away. That is code, and the inspector checks it. Permits and inspection
Spa and hot tub circuits are permitted and inspected everywhere in the area. The GFCI, the disconnect location, and the bonding are all checked. We handle the permit with the Town of Parker or Douglas County.

“Jud and his team have done a ton of work at our house over the years. Most recently hooking up our hot tub. He’s replaced our panel, set us up with a generator and much more. Common questions
Does a hot tub need its own circuit?
Yes. A dedicated 240-volt GFCI-protected circuit sized to the tub. It cannot share with anything else.
Why must the disconnect be so far from the tub?
Code requires it within sight for a fast shutoff, but at least five feet away or behind a barrier, so nobody can reach it from the water.
Can you bury the wire?
Yes, in conduit at the required depth. We can also run surface conduit along a fence or wall where trenching is not practical.
How long does the hookup take?
Most are a single day once the permit is in hand. A long buried run adds time for trenching.
